Barn Arena Worker Student Age 16
Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences – CHSAS has 5 acres of land which a farm sits on. We have animals that are
in daily need of care, such as cow, chickens, horses etc. We have student workers working to prepare them to become
Future Farmers of America.
This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for
this role will consist of an estimated 1 hour per day after school - 3 hours per day on non-attendance days,
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for an anticipated period of 10 months ] beginning [9/1//2024 and ending
[6/30/2025
The Barn/Arena Worker will complete duties such as the following:
● Managing animals
● Upkeep of the barn
● Feeding and caring for the animals
● Other duties as assigned

● Strong verbal skills
● Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team

● Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks
In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS
student [attending their sophomore, junior, or senior of high school during the 2023-2024 school year,
and must be participating in [Animal Science.]. A valid work permit will be required for students under
the age of 16.
