The Director of Category Reporting & Analytics helms a hybrid area spanning global pricing and portfolio reporting and analytics. They drive factual alignment and promote a shared understanding of business performance drivers through a variety of dashboards, standard and ad hoc sales reporting and analysis. They support decision-making with evergreen development and evolution of product and zone reporting and analysis - optimized with the most relevant data and technology. The Director drives direct margin improvement through global price optimization in collaboration with central Finance and zone teams. They lead market pricing strategy development and execution by bringing to bear insights on price elasticity, product mix, direct cost, market premiums and currency positions within a competitive context.
Location: This position is in-person at out Corporate Headquarters in New York, NY.
Key Accountabilities:
Global Pricing Management
- Pricing Analytics and Optimization: Measure product sensitivity to inform elasticity for optimized domestic pricing using modeling system and framework. Present scenarios and related impact on category and overall profitability expectations. Identify opportunities to implement price testing on optimization recommendations and evaluate channel-based opportunities. Explore and support technological platforms and tools to enhance capabilities to achieve optimal market pricing.
- Market Pricing Management: Evaluate and manage market-specific pricing proposals within product and business context to achieve optimal market alignment. Lead end-to-end execution of global price setting, price changes and ad hoc pricing needs. Contribute to evergreen validation and continued optimization of bespoke pricing platform. Define market structure recommendations in collaboration with zone partners to improve market-to-market alignment and to advance strategic competitive pricing efforts. Present market-specific proposals (central and regional) within product context, along with tracking, impact and competitive insights, where applicable, to Senior Management. Lead feedback loops with zone and Finance counterparts and partner cross-functionally to build workable implementation timelines. Direct price index reporting with insightful commentary to senior and zone leadership with assessment of shifts and opportunities.
- Competitive Pricing Analysis: Develop and maintain global competitive pricing library and supplement with market-driven intelligence gathered in partnership with zone and category counterparts. Develop and evolve market benchmarking and indexing on key portfolio elements for Global Merchandising, senior and zone leadership. Guide periodic regional touch bases to field additional insights and opportunities to sharpen market approach for existing and new collections.
- Price Evolution Management: Lead periodic price change review process. Model pricing scenarios at sku-level based on varying objectives and constraints for profit and volume. Develop and communicate key summaries to management team in partnership with Category counterparts and drive price change impact studies. Manage day-to-day operations of global pricing platform, ensuring continuity of global pricing on a timely basis. Direct and protect continuity of all offline pricing for market and/or product category exceptions to ensure alignment with desired client positioning. Lead ongoing optimization of pricing platform to maximize efficiency and minimize risk in price management.
Product Reporting & Analytics
- Lead product reporting and analysis focused on the variety of sales composition intersections for broad internal audience. Drive high-level and in-depth analyses to dimensionalize data and KPIs across geographies; develop and share insights with management groups. Promote continuous deliverable improvement and evolution of period reporting and metrics, react to changing business needs, rationalize efforts and maximize opportunities to automate for efficiency to support timely, enriched views and utilize a variety of complementary formats to best crystallize and dimensionalize key points. Lead team efforts to ensure centralized versioning leveraging available technology meet broad needs consistently, efficiently and dynamically; support self-serve modifications; and, reduce/streamline duplicative efforts. Partner cross-functionally to ensure data integrity and partner with IT to enhance analytics.
- Provide ad hoc managerial support to divisional/senior leadership on deep dives, presentation development and key insights, as necessary. Support senior leadership and cross-functional partners with reviews in connection with Group-level requirements. As lead, develop project outline to meet objectives against reasonable timelines. Actively contribute multi-degree perspective to projects, communicating transparently, managing through ambiguity and – at times – acting without direct authority.
Staff Management
- Drive alignment of strategic and operational objectives and their communication throughout appropriate departments and cross-functional partnerships. Develop, train and coach team to be effective, collaborative, self-started, agile and results oriented. Promote high level of engagement and focus efforts to resolve where engagement appears to wane. Encourage team members to think boldly and operate as full, accountable partners with their colleagues throughout the organization.
The hiring range for this position ranges from $180,000 - $200,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience. Directors are also eligible for bonus.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of prior experience in planning, strategy, or business analytics – preferably with luxury brands
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Strong analytical skills; deeply demonstrated ability to analyze performance/metrics to drive key insights
- Extensive experience developing complex reporting and data manipulation, financial and sensitivity modeling; mastered proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Quick-thinking and entrepreneurial; comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and balance across fluid immediate and long term needs and execute multi-faceted efforts flawlessly

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of planning applications in use (e.g., Anaplan; internally: TPM)
