Position Overview:
St. Eugene Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic long-term substitute teacher
to cover a 2nd grade classroom during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate is nurturing,
organized, and committed to supporting both academic growth and faith development in young
learners.
Responsibilities:
● Provide instruction in all core subject areas (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science,
and Social Studies) following the school’s curriculum and pacing guides.
● Prepare and implement engaging lesson plans that foster student learning and growth.
● Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment.
● Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents as needed.
● Communicate regularly with the principal, support staff, and parents to ensure continuity
of student learning.
● Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and student
needs.
● Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith in word and action.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
● Valid teaching license or substitute teaching license.
● Teaching experience, preferably in an elementary classroom setting.
Practicing Catholic preferred, but all candidates supportive of Catholic education and
values are encouraged to apply.
● Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
● Ability to create a warm, supportive, and faith-filled learning environment

This position has a rate of $165-$175 depending on PEL Licensure. An employee’s pay within the salary/hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
