Wilmington Rubber and Gasket, a Singer Industrial Company, is searching for an Outside Sales Representative in Wilmington, NC. Singer Industrial is one of America’s largest Industrial Distributors with a North American footprint of approximately 100 locations with over 1,400 employees. We strive to efficiently improve customer productivity with innovative industrial solutions, while providing employee growth and opportunity. We serve a diverse market portfolio including petrochemical, oil/gas, food & beverage, OE equipment, marine, MRO, construction, rental supply, power generation and mining.  We do this with a robust line of fluid power, hose & fittings, belts, seals & gaskets, pneumatic and automation products, and services.  

 

Job Summary:

The Outside Sales Representative will drive sales efforts by managing all aspects of the assigned sales territory and accounts.  This person will bring value to our customers by working with our operations team to solve some of industries’ most difficult application, logistical, and supply chain challenges. This role works closely with inside sales and operations staff to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Grow market share in a designated territory with existing and new customers 
  • Contact customers and prospective customers through appointments and cold calls.
  • Work with a variety of contacts at customer locations. This may include Maintenance, Purchasing, Planners, Engineers, Safety personnel, etc.
  • Coordinate with the inside sales team to deliver quotes, products and services that wow the customer.
  • Strengthen relationships with customers and work to understand their needs.
  • Provide on-site expertise, solve problems, and make product recommendations.
  • Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new products and special promotions.
  • Accurate use of CRM.
  • Coordinates customer training.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Investigates and resolves problems with customers’ deliveries.
  • Maintain professionalism in the workplace.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Sales experience in the hose and fitting, gaskets, or other industrial distribution sector.
  • Must be highly self-motivated.
  • Previous experience with CRM
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues, including reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate on behalf of the company without sacrificing quality.  
  • Must be able to coordinate and handle large volumes of work and simultaneously meet all customer delivery
