Job Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator of the Poynor School of Innovation plays a critical leadership role in shaping the future of healthcare education in the Pee Dee Region. This individual will oversee all clinical education career pathways and programs, ensuring alignment with McLeod Health’s workforce development strategies and community needs.
As a key driver of innovation in clinical training, you will develop and expand healthcare education programs, build strategic partnerships, secure funding, and support compliance to ensure excellence in student preparation and instruction.
This is a high-impact, relationship-centered role that requires strong organizational leadership and the ability to collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders, including health professionals, educators, workforce development teams, and community organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and oversight of strategic and operational leadership for McLeod Health staff within the School of Innovation. This includes but not limited to assigning workloads, manage staffing schedules, and ensure the highest standards of performance.
• Conduct performance reviews, offer mentorship, and follow HR protocols for team management
• Oversight of program development and workforce alignment by identifying future workforce needs of McLeod Health through needs assessments, design, launch, and adapt clinical education and career pathway programs accordingly.
• Seek and apply for grant funding to support program development
• Monitor instructional quality, classroom environments, and recommend enhancements and deliver in-service training to maintain teaching excellence and clinical relevance
• Serve as the primary liaison between McLeod Health, the School of Innovation, and external stakeholders by building and maintaining partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and public agencies
• Will service as a representative of the school in public relations and promotional efforts
• Will ensure all clinical programs comply with regulatory standards (SCDHHS, DHEC, CMS, DNV, etc.) and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in healthcare education.
• Manage the department’s budget, including fiscal planning and resource allocation to support financial strategies, maintain sustainability and growth.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in Nursing required, master’s preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as RN (SCLLR) in good standing required
Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in clinical education or healthcare program management required.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and accrediting bodies required.
• Experience in curriculum development and workforce training programs required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with cross-sector partners and internal teams req
• Strong organizational, budgeting, and decision-making capabilities required.
• Grant writing and program funding experience preferred.
