Summary

 The Data Reporting Analyst serves as the primary data partner to Reliance’s US business units, blending an understanding of business operations with a rigorous analytical skillset. This role will build relationships with unit leaders to understand business context, and spend their time sourcing, cleaning, and visualizing data to meet Reliance’s US business and statistical reporting needs. The Data Reporting Analyst will be responsible for enhancing our data analytics and reporting for our call center and operations.

  • This position is based on-site at our Kennesaw, GA office. Preference will be given to candidates who are local to this location.

Essential Functions 

  • Understand the Business: Develop relationships across departments to gain insight into the industry. Link business context to how data is created and updated throughout the organization.
     
  • Understand the Data: Become an expert in Reliance’s data processes, from back-end hardware to front-end reporting functions. Develop knowledge of the company’s data to quickly source, accurately compile, and effectively frame the data needed to define and address business challenges.
     
  • Oversee Reporting: Create, compile, maintain, and distribute regular (daily/monthly) reporting in Power BI and Excel. Develop and maintain existing dashboards and design new operational and financial analyses under supervision.
     
  • Monitor Data Processes: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regular data quality checks, identifying the root cause of data errors, and determining the appropriate solution.
     
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related analytical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as a business intelligence or data analyst.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Exceptional relationship building skills are required. You will frequently collaborate with Team Members across Reliance’s US Businesses. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of pivot tables and common analytical functions (e.g. V/XLOOKUP, COUNTIF) will be assessed.
  • Capable of building and delivering contextual visual output, preferably using Microsoft Power BI. Candidates are encouraged to submit samples of previous business intelligence reporting or dashboards with their application.
  • Able to extract, transform, and load data using a flexible technical skillset. In addition to Excel, prior experience with SQL, R, or a similar programming language would be helpful.
  • Experience with Service Titan, Dial Pad and SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for communicating findings to stakeholders.
