Duties and Responsibilities
The Student Team Leader will:
- Coordinate team operations: Schedule and facilitate weekly team meetings, including professional development workshops, check-ins, and brainstorming sessions.
- Oversee scheduling and accountability: Manage student worker shifts, monitor attendance, and ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Lead projects and workflows: Manage the intake, assignment, and progress of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables meet professional standards.
- Mentor peers: Provide guidance, feedback, and support to student content creators, fostering growth in both technical and professional skills.
- Uphold team standards: Encourage accountability, reliability, and responsibility among student staff members.
- Cultivate team culture: Create an inclusive and collaborative environment that values creativity, innovation, and engagement.
- Act as liaison: Serve as the point of contact between professional staff and student workers, fielding requests, communicating expectations, and assigning tasks effectively.
- Contribute creatively: Assist with content creation and provide leadership in areas of personal expertise (photography, video production, motion graphics, design, etc.).
- Commit to approximately 5–10 hours per week during the academic year.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring both leadership ability and technical expertise, including:
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with prior experience in supervising, mentoring, or guiding peers preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- High attention to detail and accountability, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and project management tools.
- Technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom required; After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign a plus).
- A passion for creativity, storytelling, and collaboration in a professional marketing environment.
