Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful applicant will participate in the analysis of inward, in-process, and outward materials, help to develop new or improved solutions, and share responsibility for general maintenance and calibration of Laboratory equipment and reagents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all Laboratory testing according to procedure
- Carry out Laboratory calibrations according to procedures
- Develop new processes and improve existing techniques
- Help keep the Laboratory and equipment clean and tidy
- Assist in carrying out Laboratory responsibilities in the plant
- Complete paperwork in a neat and tidy manner.
- To work on any technical R&D function as instructed by line management.
- Any further ad hoc duties as instructed by line management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Chemistry required
- Experience of working within a laboratory desirable
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong IT skills including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A genuine and visible H&S understanding
- Flexible approach to working
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Results orientated, with desire and tenacity to optimise performance
- Excellent organisational skills
- High level of numeracy and literacy
