In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Recruitment Experience Student Assistant supports the thousands of prospective students applying to Berklee’s three US-based campuses. Under the direction of the Assistant Directors of Recruitment Experience/Auditions & Interviews, this team provides world-class service and VIP treatment to all prospective students and their families. This role helps direct general Recruitment Experience events and operations duties, as well as the successful implementation of the audition and interview (A&I), including, but not limited to, communications and event staffing.

This position is for Summer 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service and Communication:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for prospective students and families relating to the A&I component of the admissions process.

  • Ensures that the highest level of service is provided to applicants with a view towards ensuring that their experience with Berklee far exceeds that of any competing institutions.

Recruitment Experience:

  • Assists the Recruitment Experience Team with social media projects such as photography, video editing, social media research and design, and other duties as assigned.

  • Assists the Recruitment Experience Team with social media projects and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both production and social media, demonstrating experience in content creation and video editing.

  • Provides support for Recruitment Experience Team events as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Recruitment Experience Team members.

Audition Event Facilitation:

  • As event and operations assistants, support all Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee on-campus A&I events. Please note these dates are subject to change, with additional dates added as needed.

  • Availability on Thursdays and/or Fridays to assist with the preparation of materials for A&I events.

  • Completion of regular training sessions in preparation for Berklee/Boston Conservatory A&I events.

  • A&I events typically occur on occasional Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM for Boston-based A&Is, and on both Saturdays and Sundays for Boston Conservatory A&Is.

  • Assists the Auditions Team with preparing all materials needed for on-campus audition events.

  • Provide event support for Boston Conservatory on-campus audition events as needed on Saturdays and Sundays during peak audition season.

  • Assist the Audition team with scheduling faculty auditioners, interviewers, and other student workers for on-campus A&I events.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Auditions team, including the Assistant Directors and/or Auditions Coordinator.

Knowledge and Skills Required/Preferred:

  • A strong desire to represent Berklee College and the Boston Conservatory community to prospective students and families.

  • Attention to detail, strong organization, and time-management skills.

  • Prior history of customer service-related skills.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills with other student employees, faculty, and staff.

  • Must be self-motivated, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the ability to work independently.

  • Able to conduct written and oral communication in an articulate, professional, and knowledgeable manner.

  • Ability to maintain and promote confidentiality is required.

  • Familiarity with spreadsheet applications, strong writing and reading skills, and strong computer skills (including database file and advanced word processing use). Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRMs is a plus but not required.

  • Familiarity with social media is a plus but not required.
