About us:

As the Lead Hardware Engineer at Lockheed Martin Australia Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of cutting-edge electrical and electronic systems. Responsible for leading a team of talented engineers, you will drive the design, implementation and testing of mission-critical hardware solutions. This full-time position is based in Mawson Lakes, South Australia, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering innovation.

About you:

  1. Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  2. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, preferably in the defence or aerospace industry
  3. Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams and delivering complex, high-quality hardware projects
  4. Proficient in the use of engineering design and analysis tools, such as CAD software and simulation platforms
  5. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and thrive under pressure
  7. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations and compliance requirements

Special Requirements:

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Lead the hardware engineering team in the design, development and integration of complex electrical and electronic systems
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware solutions meet performance, reliability and safety requirements
  3. Oversee the verification and validation of hardware designs through testing and analysis
  4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  5. Contribute to the development of engineering policies, processes and standards to drive excellence and efficiency
  6. Liaise with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective hardware solutions
