Landis+Gyr is positioning itself as the key partner for utilities in the energy transition, working tightly with and supporting utilities towards a greener tomorrow.  In the evolving energy industry, the role of data is growing along with the technical capabilities to collect ever more data from the grid edge.  This in turn drives the opportunity and need for solutions that take the complexity out from collecting ever increasing amounts of data, from a variety of devices, via a variety of communication channels at scale to enable utility business processes and value creation with data.  
Landis+Gyr offers devices, software and solutions to address the challenges utilities face in managing grid edge devices and acquiring data necessary for multiple business processes.  

We are now looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team in Finland or Switzerland, to drive our offering for Device management and data acquisition software.

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and delivery of a mission-critical enterprise software platform focused on device management and data acquisition. This role will ensure the platform meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders, with specific emphasis on the utilities sector, smart metering, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), utility meter reading, and grid edge challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Define and maintain the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the device management and data acquisition platform as an integral part of the e2e solution portfolio.
  • Engage with device business units to ensure software and device product offering comes together as a solution and maximizes customer and business value.
  • Ensure alignment of product initiatives with enterprise strategy, business objectives, and regulatory requirements in the utilities sector.
  • Monitor industry trends, market drivers, and emerging technologies to maintain product competitiveness.

Product Delivery and Execution

  • Translate business requirements, customer needs, and market insights into actionable product requirements and user stories.
  • Prioritize the product backlog to maximize business value and technical feasibility.
  • Drive the modernization of the platform, including the migration from monolithic to microservices-based, containerized, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Oversee product lifecycle management, from concept to launch and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure sales capability and materials in place, support (pre)sales and tender process 

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding product strategy, priorities, and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, operations, sales, marketing, and support to ensure alignment and delivery of business outcomes.
  • Represent the product in executive briefings, governance committees, and customer engagements.

Performance Management

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product adoption, business impact, and return on investment.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and customer feedback to inform decision-making and continuous product enhancement.

 

Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management experience in the IT software industry; ideally within the energy environment combined with experience in software product development ideally with B2B SaaS products
  • Demonstrated expertise in smart metering, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), utility meter reading, and/or grid edge challenges.
  • Proven experience in platform modernization, including the transition from monolithic systems to containerized, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT architectures, APIs, cloud computing, containerization, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with smart metering, IoT solutions, device lifecycle management, and large-scale data acquisition systems with understanding of the problems faced, processes and tools used by utilities.

Leadership Competencies

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company management in a constructive and collaborative relationship
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
