About the Department
Position Duties
Under administrative direction, is responsible for planning, managing, developing work rules, training, coordinating, and administering all activities and personnel of such staff positions as administration, citizen participation, research, and finance, and manages such personnel as are assigned to specific functions in the performance of the necessary duties. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree is required. Four years of full time paid management or administrative experience is required. (Substitution: Two years of experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
Other Qualifications
To respond to referrals and requests for service from elderly persons and/or adults with disabilities through the telephone, email, or walk in contacts Provide intake or follow up with clients to assigned programs and working within the eligibility criteria for a given program. Represents the Department of Aging by attending community meetings and trainings. Conducts home visits with older adults and adults with disabilities on an as needed basis. To maintain current working files and accurate data retention as determined by the specified program and funding source. This includes being responsible for ongoing audits requirements determined by the funder. Work closely with program leads and existing staff to understand policies and procedures necessary to conducting assigned tasks and meeting departmental goals and mission. Monitors, supervises and provides work assignments to approximately 6-9 staff members. Provides administrative oversight to staff including but not limited to programmatic requirements, managing and assisting in workloads and client interventions as necessary, primarily in the Supportive Services program, Aging and Disability Resource Center, Homeless Prevention, and others. Works collaboratively with other Department of Aging Staff as well as City of Cleveland Departments to serve clients. Planning member and lead implementer for special events. Manage multiple databases, including Social Administration Management System, and provide ongoing training to staff using databases. Manage requests from City Council, 311 and utility advocacy.
