MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine clerical duties such as record keeping, filing, copying, faxing, mailing, and answering the telephone.
- Communicates pre-test instructions to patients / family.
- Updates computer schedule with changes, additions and/or deletions.
- Communicates with registration to make certain that all patients are registered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Obtains patient information from physicians’ offices to schedule tests.
- Greets patients and family members upon entering the office suite.
- EPIC scheduling and registration responsibilities.
- Organize department meetings, record the minutes, and distribute information to staff.
- Order department supplies.
- Other office responsibilities as determined by the Pulmonary Lab Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- HS graduate or equivalent with 2-4 years of previous office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing and database entry is also desired.
- Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Able to prioritize, multitask, and show flexibility.
- Familiarity with computers and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, etc.) strongly desired.
- Previous scheduling experience preferred.
PATIENT POPULATION SERVED:
- Patients and their family members, Physician and physician office staff, and other Dept. Professional staff.
MANUAL SKILLS:
- Significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity (i.e., typing on computer keyboard)
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Duties involve little or no physical effort.
- Generally pleasant working conditions. Nature of duties performed present little or no potential for job related accidental injury.
