About the Department
Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for a Student Life Coordinator. The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for the management and supervision of the Harbor Landing Food Pantry and provides administrative support to the Department of Student Life and the Diversity & Equity Center. This position assists with the operations of student-funded program centers, maintains program operations and scheduling for the Charlie Choker Mascot and Student Lounge, reconciles and monitors department budgets, coordinates student employee hiring/payroll processes, and holds the department purchasing card. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Life and provides direct support to student funded programs, organizations and initiatives. This is an 11-month (time off to be negotiated at time of hire) student-fee funded position. A typical schedule will be 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. This role is student-focused and not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Position Duties
Program Support
- Support the operations of the Department of Student Life, including but not limited to the Student Activities & Leadership Center, esports arena, Diversity & Equity Center and Harbor Landing Food Pantry, storage rooms and print station.
- Maintain accurate inventory and organization system of department supplies, program consumables and coordinate purchasing of supplies on an ongoing basis.
- Provide assistance and orientation to campus life services and processes in person, over the phone, online and in small groups.
- Support the implementation of a comprehensive department social media plan and publicity programs.
- Maintain campus monitors using Yodeck.
- Support administrative processes related to recruiting and hiring student employees within the student life department.
- Monitor monthly budget status reports and inform Director and budget recipients regarding the financial status and advise of areas for concern.
- Assist with department sponsored events, Bishop Center events, and activities on campus, off campus, and virtual, including evenings and weekends as requested.
- Develop and design graphic advertisements and materials for department sponsored initiatives, programs and services as needed
- Facilitate partnerships to enhance the reach and impact of the Harbor Landing Food Pantry and related basic needs efforts.
- Oversee the daily operations of the expanded Harbor Landing Food Pantry, including inventory ordering and tracking, ordering supplies, diaper bank management, and volunteer coordination.
- Supervise Harbor Landing Food Pantry student employees and Student Life Ambassadors, ensuring the timely submission of timesheets and leave requests in accordance with college payroll procedures.
- Serve as the primary contact and administrator for Student Clubs and Organizations, maintaining current policies, forms, and the official Student Clubs Handbook.
- Assist in the coordination of annual club advisor training as well as ongoing development sessions, ensuring clubs operate in compliance with ASG, GHC, and state guidelines.
- Support student leaders and advisors with planning, promotion, and execution of club events and budget request processes.
- Oversee Services and Activities (S&A) Fee budgets associated with areas of responsibility.
- Support budgetary planning, organization and leadership to student funded programs in collaboration with department staff.
- Monitor sponsored activities to ensure timeliness, deadlines, and budgets are maintained.
- Interpret college policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Prepare and submit travel authorizations and book travel for the department.
- Participate in state professional organizations pertinent to the field as the budget allows.

REQUIRED
- Associate degree
- Six months to two years of experience working in an educational setting providing direct service to students
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience planning large events and managing complex projects
- Outstanding cultural competency with proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated experience with budget, administrative support and/or hiring/payroll processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
DESIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in in a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with recruitment, outreach, student engagement and/or entry services in a college setting
- Experience facilitating workshops, seminars and/or presentations
- Experience in program management including coordinating various projects, stakeholders and deadlines
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
