Position Summary
Execute the inspection of electronic assemblies according to industry specific standards. Ensure that the specifications of the established quality standards are met on all out-going products. Assist the Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager and other company leadership with quality related functions as required.
Basic Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete a job survey of all documents filed in the internal system
- Execute the verification of the PCB with the support of the written specifications (BOM, BMB, fabrication and assembly drawings and Readme) to guarantee acceptable quality standards
- Verify for the placement (presence and polarity), solder application and overall manufacturing quality of the of the PCB assembly to the specific manufacturing standard
- Obtain and maintain an IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certificate (J-STD-001 also preferred)
- Identify manufacturing defects presented on the PCB assembly
- Sign the documents to indicate the status of inspection
- Register the information corresponding to the PCB inspection results
- Reject PCB and parts that do not fulfill the established levels of acceptance
- Segregate and Report the rejected parts properly identified
- Provide support on Quality standard criteria related to assembly instructions
- Report to Production Manager or other leadership assignee any repetitive discrepancy in products
- Log all inspected jobs in the QA database
- Release jobs and PCB’s inspected to the next process in ERP system
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Ensure that you work safely as well as around others
- Work independently and consistently meet productions goals
- Maintain good attendance and reliability, including adhering to working schedules
- Read and understand manufacturing procedures and other necessary documentation
- Identify causes of common process problems and provide alternative solutions for resolving them
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skill Sets, Education, Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum experience of 1 year in Electronic PCB Assembly.
- Minimum experience of 1 year in Quality Control.
- Understanding of quality concepts including sampling plans and continuous improvement
- Good working knowledge and understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, prints and component datasheets.
- Familiarity with basic measuring instruments tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. (Including ability to read, understand and explain GMP, process procedures and other necessary documentation).
- Positive attitude to changes.
- Self-motivated with a team attitude.
- Be able to work scheduled and extra hours as required.
- Attention to detail.
Desired:
Proficient with IPC-A-610 standard (CIS preferred) and/or J-STD-001 standard.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work environment involves slight physical risks that require following basic safety precautions (wearing safety glasses, ESD jackets, etc.).
Equipment with relatively simple operating procedures (microscope, magnifying lamp, micrometers, hand tools, etc.).
