Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision – Supervise site Instrument and Electrical team. Teach, mentor, and communicate electrical and instrumentation experience with electrical technicians, mechanics, and operators. Experience in a Union Shop. Prioritize, plan, define, monitor, and closeout daily workload for the E/I group. Assist in annual Instrument and Electrical shutdown planning. Supervise Qualified Personnel in performing electrical work conforming to NFPA 70/70E, MIOSHA, and company requirements. Responsible for Michigan electrical code compliance of all installations of electrical wiring and equipment.
  2. Instrument – Strong background in process related instrumentation (Level, Temperature, Flow, and Pressure), including an ability to read and generate instrument loop drawings and ladder logic. Able to troubleshoot and calibrate instruments, and field verify interlock systems.
  3. Electrical – Strong background in electrical work, including an ability to read one-line drawings, distribution drawings, conduit layout plans, and motor wiring diagrams. An ability to design simple electrical modifications and mark-up field drawings. Performs duties required as the coordinator for the electrical maintenance program.
  4. ERP– Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) administer for the department of existing equipment as required. Assist with updating ERP equipment database, as required.
  5. Troubleshooting – Assist plant in troubleshooting. Evaluate new equipment or substitute equipment. Approve deviations from standard equipment and parts. Assist in finding emergency replacement parts or equipment. Utilize ERP system to determine MTBF and root cause analysis.
  6. Project Management – Manage multiple capital projects related to electrical maintenance, facilities, and utilities. Familiar with AutoCad, able to print drawings and make minor revisions. Maintain and update maintenance and equipment files.
  7. Electrical Safety – Site lead on electrical safety, including Arc Flash, Static Charges, Lock Out Tag Out, and Area Classification. Responsible for the training and execution of the site’s Electrical Safety Program.
  8. Mechanical Background – Mechanically inclined, familiar with conveyors, gearboxes, agitators, and pumps. Backup Maintenance Supervisor as required, and assist locating parts (mechanical and electrical) as necessary.
  9. PSM - Familiar with Process Safety Management, especially Instrument Calibrations and Interlock Function Tests. Experience with solvent processing, Class I Div 1 area classifications, and intrinsically safe wiring methods. Works to establish and/or maintain the site’s electrical maintenance program supporting the Mechanical Integrity element of PSM. Supports the Maintenance team and I&E department in the MOC/PHA processes as needed.
  10. Food Industry Experience – Familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices. Leads shop in food safety practices, addressing audit recommendations, and ensuring maintenance practices do not put food safety at risk.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Michigan Electrical Master’s License
  • 5+ Years of industrial plant experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to coach and develop direct reports.
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Instrumentation Experience
  • Self-motivated, with eagerness and ability to learn new skills and see tasks through to completion.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based applications (Outlook, Microsoft 365, etc.).

Desired:

  • 10+ Years of industrial plant electrical experience
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, preferably Infor M3
  • Electrical maintenance supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to apply experience to assist with mechanical trades/disciplines.
