Install, maintain, and repair fire and security alarm systems across all District buildings, ensuring optimal functionality and code compliance.
Program and manage the IFC 10/10 and 20/20 fire and security system databases District-wide, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timely updates.
Serve as a key liaison between contractors, Operations & Maintenance, school administrators, and facilities managers to oversee contractor performance, ensure high-quality system installations, and maintain alignment with District standards.
Maintain detailed written documentation of all fire and security alarm system tests for every District facility, supporting compliance, accountability, and readiness for inspections.
Regularly update and maintain fire alarm system drawings, point-to-point wiring documentation, and system performance reports to ensure accuracy for troubleshooting and planning.
Provide expert-level technical support and hands-on training to administrative personnel, office staff, custodians, and maintenance teams on the operation and basic troubleshooting of fire and security systems.
Clean and maintain smoke detector heads and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure proper functionality and reduce false alarms.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage (12V & 24V AC/DC) circuits supporting fire and security alarm systems.
Collaborate with District electricians to provide assistance and support for electrical projects and troubleshooting as needed.
Respond promptly to after-hours emergencies involving fire and security systems, ensuring a rapid and effective resolution.
Conduct annual inspections and testing of all fire alarm systems in compliance with life safety codes and regulations.
Address reports from South Metro Fire Rescue, taking swift corrective action on identified issues or deficiencies.
Identify and correct all fire system deficiencies across District facilities to maintain system integrity, safety, and compliance with fire codes.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must maintain valid Colorado driver’s license and meet District auto insurability requirement
- District fire alarm training certifications required within 12 months after hire

Pay Range: $33.59 - $39.61 per hour (Based on experience)
Vacation Time: 6.67 hours per month up to 5 years of service, 10 hours per month from 5 yrs - 10 yrs of service and 13.34 hours per month for 10 years and more.
Sick Time: 8 hours per month
Personal Days: 2 - 8 hour Personal Days
Work Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm (Monday - Friday)
Location: This position is based out of the District Office (not a school site).
Calendar: This is a full-time year round position (253 day calendar) based out of the District Security Office

Position Purpose: Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, programming, and testing fire and security alarm devices District-wide. Duties also include maintaining required documentation, providing fire and security alarm technical support and training for individuals throughout the District, maintaining fire sprinkler systems, and annual kitchen system inspections, fire annual backflow inspection, fire extinguisher certification.
