SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor, clean and maintain school grounds and landscaped areas; operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment; assist in lining, marking and dragging athletic fields.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed in the job description including one (1) year grounds keeping experience. Must possess a valid California driver's license. (Out of state applicants need to get a CA DL within 90 days of employment) Some positions in this classification may require a pesticide applicator's license. VUSD WORKING CONDITIONS: Subject to outdoor environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions;pollen. PROMOTIONAL AND OPEN TESTING – Open to employees of the District and the public with the selection process resulting in one (1) Eligibility List that will be used to fill current vacancies and any future vacancies that occur within six (6) months or until the list becomes exhausted. Current permanent employees of the District will be awarded seniority points as per the contract.

Range 43: $20.46- $22.58/hour. Advance step placement, up to step 3, may be considered based on previous experience and education. Current employees promotional rules apply.
