About the Role:
In anticipation of future government awards, GiaCare Inc. is now accepting applications for Physician (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) to support FT Bragg, North Carolina.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.). Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by
- The Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association;
- Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education;
- Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association,
- An accrediting body recognized by the U.S Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).

- A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
Experience:
Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty required in the TO) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training). For purposes of this requirement, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. Descriptions of such programs are described below.
- An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training an appropriate accrediting body.
- A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body.
- A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital, or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.
- At least two years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting within the past five years with privileges in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Certifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR)
- A current, valid, unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Duties:
- Providing expert level clinical care in PM&R specific evaluations, diagnoses and treatment including on development of brain injury medicine treatment plans.
- Examines and assess patients, develops, and manages a comprehensive and long-term rehabilitation program. Evaluates imagining studies, and prescribes appropriate treatment which may include the use of alternative and complementary medicine, physical rehabilitation, and eye/ear/speech rehabilitation.
- Develops an interdisciplinary approach to maximize knowledge advancement and or TBI and PH care as it pertains to the rehabilitation of patients.
- Be an expert in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, prescribe the full spectrum of Physical Therapy, Occupational therapy, Speech, Neuropsychology evaluations, and social work services. Order Radiology, laboratory tests, makes diagnoses and prescribe/direct appropriate Rehabilitation treatment to include drugs, and dietary care as indicated. Perform and interpret full range of Electrophysiology (i.e. Electromyography (EMG), Nerve conduction velocity (NCV), Repetitive Stimulation Studies (RSS)). Perform prosthetics, orthotics, rehabilitation equipment evaluations and prescriptions.
- Teach, and provides consultation to a health care team comprised of other physicians, medical professionals, and ancillary staff.
- Complete training to obtain knowledge and maintain competency in the following systems: MHS Genesis, Dragon dictation software, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Comply with regulatory, MTF, and Joint Commission quality inspection/ peer review/ utilization management requirements, and applicable system applications.
- Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use DoD approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records.
- Document and close notes in MHS Genesis within three (3) business days of patient encounters.
- Respond to beneficiary messages submitted and received in the MHS Genesis secure portal systems within one (1) business day.
