Position Job Title: Data & Reporting Analyst        

Reports To: Reporting & Analytics Director

Department: Finance & Accounting

Classification: Year-Round Full Time 

FLSA Status: Exempt


GENERAL PURPOSE

The Data & Reporting Analyst will support the Reporting & Analytics Director, profit center directors and resort management in the collection of and analysis of data, as well as the creation, distribution and interpretation of key reports and metrics. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Reporting & Analytics Director to maximize software capabilities and efficiencies to further integrate systems for improved reporting and forecasting abilities. 
  • Collects and analyzes data across multiple sources and in partnership with the Financial Analyst as it relates to budget and performance forecasting; analysis may include historical trends, periodic reports, benchmark reporting, and special projects.
  • Collaborates with Business Systems Team to establish centralized and routine revenue and KPI reporting, including financial dashboards. 
  • Provides interpretation and analysis to profit center directors and managers regarding budgets, forecasts, surveys, financial trends, and other requested data.
  • Collaborates with profit center directors & key management to address analytical needs, resources and tools.
  • Maintain reporting software including but not limited to version control, data integrity, account management, security, data imports, etc. 
  • Aids in price setting and yield management work, including but not limited to visitation forecasting, capacity management, and competitive set analysis. 
  • Develops, organizes, and maintains files, documents, and materials relating to analytical practices according to company’s policies.
  • Provide technical and process support to department managers to ensure deadlines and process expectations are met.

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned. 
  • Partner with other departments as needed to assist in broader data analysis
  • Assist Accounting department through monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting and CPM software including but not limited to Sage Intacct, Prophix, RTP, Excel and the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, statistical methodology, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to skillfully perform detailed statistical analyses.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear, concise financial reports.
  • Ability to work independently and complete work on schedule.
  • Ability to interpret financial data contained in reports and ledgers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete work with high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily workload. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses computer and phone. Most work is completed in an indoor environment. Occasional outdoor environment to visit profit centers to resolve issues. Outdoor environment may cause exposure to extreme temperatures and varying weather. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional walking, moving about on foot to visit profit centers. 
  • Extensive use of fingers to type and perform other computer work.
  • Hearing and ability to receive detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking level. 
  • Close visual acuity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures.


POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This job is year-round full time and typically works during daytime business hours. Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business need, and overtime should be expected around project deadlines.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ski resort experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with RTP, Sage Intacct, and/or Prophix, or similar product sales and financial reporting software
  • At least 3 years of experience involving the analytical research and reporting of complex financial data or any combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Previous experience with data visualization tools
