Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative plays a key role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and supporting Grady’s financial health. This position is responsible for patient intake and registration, including:

• Conducting accurate patient interviews and entering demographics.

• Scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage.

• Posting charges, calculating patient payment responsibilities, and processing payments at the point of service.

• Balancing and depositing daily collections.

• Performing multi-task clinic duties to support efficient daily operations.

Accuracy and efficiency in this role are essential for optimizing hospital revenue and delivering outstanding service. All responsibilities are performed in accordance with regulatory standards and Grady Health System’s mission, vision, and policies—always with a focus on Excellence in Customer Service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; two (2) years of college preferred.

• One (1) or more years of customer service experience required.

• Experience in patient access, billing, cash collections, insurance verification, or appointment scheduling preferred.

• Ability to type 30–35 WPM accurately and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

• Preferred Certifications/Skills:

   

  • Experience with Siemens INVISION®/OAS Gold® or Epic systems.
