SUMMARY
To test product returned from end user involved in customer care complaints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Testing customer care returns according to established procedures (daily)
• Blood Preparation (daily)
• Analyzer(s) maintenance (daily / monthly / bi-monthly)
• Monitor lab supply inventory levels
• Determine relative priority of returns (daily)
• Evaluation and disposition of field returns
• Preliminary root cause analysis (daily)
• Reviews and updates complaint handling system
• Review of customer care return reports prepared by technicians (daily)
• Prepares Reports and Status of Customer Care Investigations
• Adheres to all workplace safety laws, regulations, standards and practices
• Remains current and compliance with all training requirements
• Assist phlebotomists
• Assist in training of new personnel
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in a laboratory science field plus at least two years of work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a science, e.g., Chemistry or Biology, AND a minimum of three years of work related experience; or at least five years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Phlebotomy training is a plus but is not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write and comprehend technical instructions, short correspondence and memos. Must be able to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to peers and supervisors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Must be able to calculate bias and standard deviation.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required. Medical Technologist Certification or License preferred. Phlebotomy licensure preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle small objects. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to handle/operate meters and pipettes. Must have good color vision for viewing test strip development. Must be able to lift boxes of test strip samples of up to 200 vials. Must be able to perceive dimensional characteristics of strips.
