Part-Time Hands-On Learning Facilitiator for Mass Media and Sound Recording and Music Technology
(Temporary Grant-Funded)
Position reports to: Director of Sound Recording/Music Technology
Hourly rate: $14.00
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Two positions available:
1) Mass Media
2) Sound Recording and Music Technology
This position is grant funded with a grant end date of June 30, 2026.
Basic Purpose:
The Perkins Hands-on Learning Facilitator provides academic and laboratory support across the Perkins-funded Mass Media and Sound Recording and Music Technology programs. Facilitators are provided access to labs, studios, syllabi, testing materials and other resources which support student success. Facilitators guide students through class material in a collaborative effort to learn material, discuss important concepts and strengthen hands-on specific to that class and discipline.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide remediation with students to support and enhance their success
- Assist students with hands-on skills as supplemental activities to coursework
- Develop and nurture rapport with instructor and students
- Attend any training activities as required by the program director or coordinator
Qualifications
- Associate degree or successful completion of at least 60 credits from accredited institution of higher education in either Mass Media, Sound Recording and Music Technology or related field required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated effective study skills
- Skilled at facilitating group interaction and problem solving
Note: The person in this position must keep daily logs for all activities performed and have them available for on-site reviewers.
