We are now looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to join our Global Trade team as part of the Kemira SCM and Logistics. The role will contribute to Kemira’s growth and profitability strategy by ensuring compliance and efficiency in Kemira’s international business operations, including import/export, customs, export controls, and sanctions.  This position is located in Atlanta, GA (Galleria office) and eligible for hybrid work. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Global Trade.

 

Role involves keeping updated on changing trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions, and ensuring all import/export activities comply with the applicable laws.

 

The key tasks for the role include :

  • Following and monitoring import/export related regulation, interpreting regulations and supporting implementation to Kemira business processes.
  • Developing internal controls to ensure compliance in Export Control, Sanctions and Customs process areas.
  • Responsible for Customs tariff classification & management.
  • Ensuring import, export process compliance, customs valuation, needed licenses and archiving according to Customs regulation.
  • Evaluating and communicating duty costs, duty reliefs, benefits, requirements and conditions to stakeholders.
  • Being a liaison for Customs Authority and co-ordinating Customs inquiries / audits with internal stakeholders.
  • Developing trade compliance processes and guidelines to ensure the regulatory compliance.
  • Providing training to increase internal stakeholder Trade Compliance awareness.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or Law Degree.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in global trade compliance, international logistics, or customs compliance roles.
  • Broad understanding in customs regulations, export controls & sanctions globally -particularly in North America, South America is considered as an advantage.
  • Experience in Customs Tariff Classification preferably from the Chemical industry.
  • Good understanding of customs processes and Customs Valuation, Preferential & Free Trade Agreements.
  • Strong team working skills and preferably having experience in working with complex matrix teams in international arena.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment embracing changes every day.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, pro-active attitude.
  • Attention on details while understanding the big picture and impact of decisions.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
