Calling all Athletic Trainers! OrthoNY is seeking a Seasonal Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for games in Glens Falls starting this September. This flexible, games-only role is a great opportunity to stay connected to athletics, support local athletes, and be part of a team dedicated to keeping players safe and performing at their best.
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
The Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for providing athletic training services to student athletes within the scope of their license under the direction of a physician and within the guidelines of the contract. The ATC may also function as a DME Specialist in the clinic setting during off-season or if they have a part-time school contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Athletic Training
- Provide onsite athletic training services to athletes covered within an assigned school contract (i.e., evaluating injuries, administering exercises, etc.);
- Provide services to organizations, tournaments, club sports, Section 2 and NYSPHAA when necessary;
- Provide injury statistics and documentation in an accurate and organized manner to AT Coordinator on a weekly basis or as requested;
- Act as backup to other ATCs as needed;
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a program in athletic training that is registered by the New York State Education Department as licensure qualifying;
- NYS License, NATA Board Certification and CPR required;
- One to three years’ ATC experience; five years’ preferred;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Experience casting preferred, willing to train;
Other Information:
- Travel between OrthoNY offices and/or third-party locations (i.e., schools, sporting events, local marketing event locations) is required (about 50% of the time).
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, walking and/or continuously moving around. Also kneeling, crouching, crawling and/or working in other unusual physical positions, climbing, balancing, stretching as well as pushing/pulling lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs. Assisted lifting is required for any athlete/other item over the 50 lb. limit.
