Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Assistant will work within our Quality department alongside quality inspectors and learn how to successfully inspect all products and raw materials. This individual will also be responsible for monitoring and managing the non-conforming material process, tracking, and coordinating the calibration schedule. Responsibilities will also include completion of various complaint packages, reports, and mandated quality control processes 

  

  • Coordinate non-conforming material process.
  • Log, Analyze and Track Nonconforming Data for customer reporting, KPI reporting, and Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Work with Quality Manager to deploy System and Process improvements between CT & SC sites.
  • Drive, support, and promote continuous improvement activities (8D, DMAIC, PDCA, etc..) to meet business objectives.
  • Track and trend various Quality KPI’s such as Audit findings, Continuous Improvement projects and efforts, Gage R&R, process shifts, RCCA investigation results, etc.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal audit efforts.
  • Support external (customer & registrar) audits.
  • Manage/Coordinate Calibration system.
  • Manage/Support on site Safety & EH&S initiatives and programs.
  • Be willing to learn and attain skills towards performing DSQR functions.
  • Support company training program, coordinate or provide training on a recurring schedule.
  • Coordinate SC Location training tracking program. 
  • Complete various required reports and packages, including but not limited to: AS9102 compliant FAI packages, PFMEAs, Control Plans, PPAP, AS9100 and AS13100.
  • Coordinate Metallurgical Testing schedule, willing to obtain P&W LCS Certification.
  • Familiar with or willing to learn Customer Portals: P&W, GE Aviation, Siemens, GE Power.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments with well-defined work instructions. 
  • Assist in coordinating information exchange between CT & SC Inspectors (CMM Data, Certifications, travelers, Air Flow Data) if necessary.
  • Upload KPC data to Customer Portal as necessary.
  • Learn how to recognize needs and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment.
  • Provide flexible, cross-cultural and departmental support for shifts, training and maintaining workflow. 
  • Comply with OSHA and EH&S requirements.
  • Willing to receive training for CMM Programming (if not already experienced).
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
  • Support Engineering in Development of New Parts, Process, Tooling/Gage qualifications (Gage R&R, correlations) as necessary.
  • Able to support daily shipments by performing final inspections as needed, process shipments (generating certs), and assist in packaging and movement of product as needed.


Requirements

  • Must be a “US Person”, in accordance with US Government definitions.
  • Must be able to work with ITAR related data without restriction. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree enrollment or completion preferred.
  • Some Quality Role experience is preferable
  • Attentiveness to detail 
  • Demonstrated self-starter.
  • Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work with various departments within a cross cultural environment.
  • Ability to exercise leadership without authority.
  • PC-DMIS exposure preferable 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality related software/programs.
