The admitting lead registers and pre-registers patients, compiling accurate demographic information. Is responsible for verifying insurance and obtaining authorization numbers when needed. The lead assists in reviewing accounts in the workqueues and assists with training new staff. Participates as a member of the supervision team and helps to resolve issues as they arise. Qualifications/Work Experience:

• 2 or more years of experience in the admitting department, business office, or physician office

• Knowledgeable and familiar with all aspects of the admitting department

• Must communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing

• Strong customer service skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.

• General knowledge of insurance payors: PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, & Cal-Optima

• Bi-lingual (English/ Spanish, or English/ Vietnamese) preferred • Positive work ethic

• General computer skills required including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of medical terminology
