JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community Liaison for Relief & Outreach serves as a vital connection between Lakewood Church and community partners across the Gulf Coast Region. This role is responsible for fostering strong relationships, supporting relief operations, and identifying opportunities to expand outreach efforts. Working in collaboration with the Senior Director and Relief team, the Community Liaison ensures that Lakewood�s resources are effectively deployed to meet community needs while furthering the mission of bringing hope through Jesus Christ.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Relief & Outreach.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Build and maintain consistent, meaningful engagement with community partners throughout the Gulf Coast region, strengthening existing relationships and cultivating new opportunities for collaboration
- Provide continuity of departmental operations by identifying needs, monitoring priorities, and communicating required actions to the Senior Director
- Partner with the Relief team to coordinate communication internally and externally, ensuring consistent and effective support for partners in the community
- Maintain current knowledge of warehouse inventory and actively pursue opportunities for placement of supplies with community partners
- Serve as a resource to partners for receiving, distributing, and reporting on relief supplies, providing guidance and assistance to ensure appropriate allocation of goods
- Plan, coordinate, and lead quarterly partner gatherings and monthly training sessions
- Collaborate with the Senior Director to provide support of warehouse operations and execution of onsite and offsite relief and outreach events
- Understand warehouse safety protocols and processes and share with all partners and visitors to ensure compliance
- Draft, edit, and prepare correspondence, reports, partner agreements, and related documents using spreadsheets and databases
- Collaborate in disaster response efforts, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective distribution of goods
- Provide support for the annual M3 Conference
- Assist with monitoring and managing departmental budget and expenses
- Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization to achieve departmental goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Regular attendance at Church services and classes
- Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church
- Serving our community through local outreaches as needed by the Church
QUALIFICATIONS

- Mature Christian demonstrating Christ-like character, empathy, and a passion to care for those in need
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear reports, correspondence, partner agreements, and lead trainings
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse community partners, volunteers, and staff
- Strong organizational skills and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and details simultaneously
- Experience monitoring budgets, managing expenses, and preparing basic financial summaries for departmental oversight
- Knowledge of disaster response or relief coordination preferred, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced or crisis environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new systems, software, and processes
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends during disaster response activations
- Proven experience planning and facilitating trainings, community events, or partner gatherings
- Demonstrated informal leadership experience such as leading cross-functional efforts, facilitating partner coalitions, or mentoring volunteers; ability to influence without direct authority
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor�s degree in Communications, Community Services, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
- Minimum of 2�3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnership development required
- Prior experience working in a ministry, nonprofit, or faith-based organization strongly preferred
