Who are we looking for?

Job Summary:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to develop functional landscape designs for our residential clients. This role supports our sales team by creating site plans, drafting designs, selecting materials, and preparing project documentation—without direct client interaction. The ideal candidate has strong design sensibility, technical drafting skills, and knowledge of plants, materials, and construction while collaborating with clients and teams to bring designs to life.
Responsibilities:
1. Base Plan Development. Gather and interpret site measurements, survey data, and client preferences to create accurate base plans. Use CAD and other design software to develop foundational drawings for landscape projects.
2. Site Analysis. Conduct thorough site assessments, considering topography, drainage, soil conditions, and existing vegetation.
3. Design Drafting. Craft designs that seamlessly align with client budgets while maintaining aesthetic and functional integrity. Prepare detailed construction drawings, sections, and elevations to guide project implementation.
4. RFQs and Take-offs. Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and gather pricing from vendors and contractors. Perform material quantity take-offs to ensure accurate cost estimation and project budgeting.
5. Material Selection & Deliveries. Research and recommend appropriate materials for hardscapes and softscapes
6. Site Layout. Oversee on-site layout and staking to ensure the design is accurately translated into the built environment.
7. Planting & Lighting Plans. Develop planting and lighting plans
8. End-of-Job Package. Compile as-built drawings, material specifications, and maintenance guidelines for the client and our maintenance teams. Ensure all documentation is complete for project closeout and future reference.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in Landscape Architecture or Design
- Proficiency with Vectorworks or AutoCAD. Your knowledge of Sketchup is a bonus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry
- Ability to read blueprint plans and surveys as well as working site drawings, grade and layout plans
- Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
- Construction experience is a bonus
