We are seeking a passionate AI Governance Officer – Lead, to join our team and spearhead the AI governance framework and process, to ensure ethical transparent, and compliant use of AA and AI across the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in AI ethics, regulatory compliance, risk management, capable of collaborating with global teams and senior leadership to align AI initiatives with organizational values, policies, standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Job Responsibilities
    • AI Governance Framework
      • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive AI governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for ethical AI development and deployment.
      • Ensure the safe development, deployment, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems across the organization.
      • Ensure AI initiatives comply with regulations and industry standards, staying ahead of evolving legal and ethical requirements.
      • Draft and update AI-related standards, including linkage to data governance, model risk, security and privacy, ensuring alignment with relevant internal policies and standards.
    • AI Impact Assessment:
      • Conduct AI impact assessments to identify potential risks with the AI systems.
      • Analyze data and AI model performance to identify areas of improvement.
      • Maintain AI impact assessment results and risk treatment plans.
    • AI Approval Process:
      • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the AI approval process, ensuring that AI systems meet organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
      • Facilitate AI approval committee meetings, AI systems are properly reviewed and approved.
      • Develop and maintain AI approval process documentation and guidelines.
    • AI Governance Process Automation:
      • Streamline and automate AI governance processes using workflow management tools and other technologies.
      • Develop and maintain AI governance process documentation and guidelines.
      • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate AI governance processes with existing systems & tools.
    • Ongoing Monitoring and Controls Testing:
      • Perform ongoing monitoring of AI systems to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
      • Develop and execute controls testing plans to identify potential risks and weaknesses.
      • Collaborate with audit teams to ensure that AI systems are properly audited and reviewed.
    • Stakeholder Management:
      • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including data scientists, engineers, and business leaders, to ensure that AI systems meet business needs & organisational standards.
      • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on AI governance processes and requirements, including with AI Ambassadors across the region.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in AI governance.
    • Other Responsibilities:
      • Support the development of the group-wide AI strategy, roadmap, and tracking progress of AI initiative across the region.
      • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in AI governance
      • Participate in industry forums and working groups to advance AI governance practices.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI governance policies and procedures.
      • Develop and manage AI governance metrics and reporting to measure the effectiveness of AI governance processes.
      • Stay abreast of Prudential’s Responsible AI Principles, AI Objectives and AI Management System.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in AI governance, data ethics, compliance or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a multinational Organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing AI governance frameworks or similar compliance programs in complex, global environments.
  • Experience with evolving regulatory landscapes for AI and data, in Asia and Africa, and relevant parts of the most influential AI frameworks.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning, and their ethical and societal implications.
  • Strong understanding of global data privacy laws, AI regulations, and ethical guidelines.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical meindset with expertise in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with data science and/or machine learning concepts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, public policy, ethics, computer science, or a related field.
