Our Regulatory Affairs team plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and customer satisfaction through meticulous food labeling and documentation standards.


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a Regulatory Affairs Technician – Food Labeling Specialist with a strong background in food science and at least 2 years of experience in food labeling and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for someone passionate about ensuring label accuracy, ingredient transparency, and alignment with U.S. and Canadian food labeling regulations.

As part of our cross-functional team, you'll collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Product Development, Sales, and Design to bring compliant, market-ready products to life—ranging from candy and snacks to specialty foods.


Key Responsibilities

📦 Label Compliance & Documentation
• Review and develop packaging content in compliance with FDA, USDA, and CFIA food labeling regulations
• Draft and verify Nutrition Facts panels, ingredient statements, and allergen declarations
• Assess claims for gluten-free, vegan, kosher, non-GMO, and organic certification across multiple product lines

🎨 Cross-Functional Coordination
• Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, QA, and Art teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across all packaging assets
• Review and proof packaging artwork prior to print for nutritional and regulatory accuracy
• Maintain organized digital records of specifications, customer documents, and regulatory approvals

📁 Regulatory Maintenance & Support
• Update and manage product specification sheets and raw material documentation
• Track and communicate changes in U.S. and Canadian food labeling regulations internally
• Support customer documentation requests including allergen declarations, spec sheets, and country of origin forms

🔍 Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
• Assist Regulatory Affairs and Operations teams with cross-functional projects and process improvements
• Help create and refine SOPs and work instructions as part of the regulatory quality system
• Stay current on regulatory developments, food trends, and emerging compliance standards


Qualifications

📘 Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in food regulatory affairs, labeling, or QA within a food manufacturing/distribution environment
• Experience with GFSI-based food safety systems (e.g., SQF) preferred
• Familiarity with U.S. (CFR Title 21) and Canadian (CFIA) food labeling regulations

🛠 Skills & Tools
• Proficiency in ESHA Genesis R&D (or similar nutritional analysis software)
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
• Experience with document management tools and regulatory systems
• Excellent proofreading, written communication, and organizational skills
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
