Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY 

The Construction Quality Manager is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by developing and implementing quality control procedures, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.  

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.  

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Collaborates closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that work is executed to the highest standards.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Management Plan (QMP) for construction projects.
  3. Establish and enforce quality control standards, inspection processes, and documentation practices.
  4. Coordinate and monitor regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
  5. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve quality-related issues.
  6. Monitor materials, workmanship, and methods for compliance with project requirements.
  7. Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  8. Maintain quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation.
  9. Train and guide project team members on quality control procedures and best practices.
  10. Review and approve quality-related submittals, including materials, methods, and equipment.
  11. Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings as the quality representative.
  12. Ensure that all quality documentation is complete and available for final project close-out.
  13. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  14. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  15. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  2. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.

QUALIFICATIONS 

At a minimum, the Construction Quality Manager, must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent field of study, along with 10+ years of relevant quality management or quality control experience on a major civil infrastructure project, proven, advanced, knowledge of Total Quality Management and Methodologies, ISO 9000, ISO 9001, reading/interpreting complex civil engineering specifications, and a valid and current driver’s license OR a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 14+ years of relevant quality management or quality control experience on a major civil infrastructure project, proven, advanced, knowledge of Total Quality Management and Methodologies, ISO 9000, ISO 9001, reading/interpreting complex civil engineering specifications, and a valid and current driver’s license.
