Radiology Tech (2 Open Per Diem Positions)

 

Schedule: Per Diem

Variable shifts available. 

Base Compensation Range: $31.91 - $49.18

+ Per Diem Shift Differential 

 

Definition of Position:

Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

 

Performs Diagnostic Radiography Procedures:

  • Corroborates the patient’s clinical history with the procedure, ensuring relevant information is documented and available to the licensed practitioner.

  • Prepares patients for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.

  • Selects and operates radiographic equipment and associated devices to achieve diagnostic results.

  • Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, respecting the patient’s abilities and comfort.

  • Immobilizes patients as required to obtain appropriate imaging.

  • Determines exposure technique factors, minimizing radiation exposure to the patient and others.

  • Evaluates images for technical quality and ensures proper identification is recorded.

  • Verifies informed consent and assists a licensed practitioner with interventional procedures.

  • Practices aseptic techniques as needed.

  • Assumes responsibility for the patient’s physical and emotional needs during procedures.

  • In accordance with state statutes and/or institutional policy: prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

  • Initiates basic life support (BLS) when necessary.

  • Assists a licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.

Qualifications:

 

 Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Completion of a formal, accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • Certifications:

    • Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Radiologic Technologist

    • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, or equivalent

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good general health.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more.

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing throughout the work shift is required.

  • Occasional lifting of supplies and/or equipment.

  • Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.

  • Ability to operate office equipment and perform general office duties.
