Radiology Tech (2 Open Per Diem Positions)
Schedule: Per Diem
Variable shifts available.
Base Compensation Range: $31.91 - $49.18
+ Per Diem Shift Differential
Definition of Position:
Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures.
Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
Performs Diagnostic Radiography Procedures:
Corroborates the patient’s clinical history with the procedure, ensuring relevant information is documented and available to the licensed practitioner.
Prepares patients for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
Selects and operates radiographic equipment and associated devices to achieve diagnostic results.
Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, respecting the patient’s abilities and comfort.
Immobilizes patients as required to obtain appropriate imaging.
Determines exposure technique factors, minimizing radiation exposure to the patient and others.
Evaluates images for technical quality and ensures proper identification is recorded.
Verifies informed consent and assists a licensed practitioner with interventional procedures.
Practices aseptic techniques as needed.
Assumes responsibility for the patient’s physical and emotional needs during procedures.
In accordance with state statutes and/or institutional policy: prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Initiates basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
Assists a licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of a formal, accredited Radiologic Technology program.Certifications:
Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Radiologic Technologist
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Physical Requirements:
Must be in good general health.
Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and occasionally lift 100 pounds or more.
Frequent sitting and/or standing throughout the work shift is required.
Occasional lifting of supplies and/or equipment.
Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.
Ability to operate office equipment and perform general office duties.
