Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the leader in dockside, mid-stream, and offshore distribution of marine fuels and lubricants along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico, as well as along the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Position: Facility Maintenance Technician (Houston)

Worksite:  The facility is in Houston, Texas (Houston Ship Channel Area). The company’s headquarters are in Terrytown, Louisiana (the Greater New Orleans Area).

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm. Some overtime and work-related travel, including weekends, may be required from time to time. 

Essential Duties:

• Record keeping with Maintenance logs, Safety checks, tank inspections, etc.
• Ensure that the facility, all equipment, and property are maintained and kept in good working order.
• Ordering parts for and making repairs to facility equipment and vehicles within regulations.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Complete paperwork.
• Conduct basic business correspondence.
• Interact and communicate effectively with various individuals and groups.
• Abide by company policy.
• Coordinate schedules with production for routine maintenance and inspections of equipment.
• Locate price-competitive vendors.
• Complete special projects.  
• Work cohesively with Lead Blender and Lead Driver on routine maintenance and checks throughout the areas.
• Other duties that may be requested by the Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three to five years of work experience in lubricants or a related field or industry.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and similar software programs.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Valid driver’s license. 
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
