Are you a strategic leader with a passion for relationship-building and impactful fundraising? We’re seeking a Senior Manager of Institutional Giving and Donor Events to grow our $4M+ fundraising portfolio across corporate, foundation, and event channels.
You’ll manage and expand institutional partnerships and sponsorships, while overseeing grant opportunities, donor engagement, and stewardship events. Directly leading a team of two, you’ll provide guidance, coordination, and vision to drive results.

Purpose of Position: The Senior Manager of Institutional Giving and Donor Events is responsible for leading and growing the fundraising efforts across institutional, event and foundation channels for Humane Colorado. This role is responsible for managing and expanding the organization’s portfolio of strategic corporate partnerships, sponsorships, foundation relations, and grant writing, while also overseeing the strategy, planning, and execution of donor-focused fundraising and stewardship events.
Responsibilities
- Manages the identification, acquisition, and cultivation of new national, regional and local corporate relationships and revenue
- Negotiate sponsor benefits, draft sponsorship contracts, and ensure sponsorship deliverables are fulfilled for events in a timely manner
- Develop strategic partnership proposals and benefit packages.
- Maintain strong relationships with corporate partners and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.
- Pursue relationships that result in reduction of cost of care for shelter animals
- Remove obstacles for the foundation grant strategic process.
- Assist grant writing staff in coordinating with program and finance teams to support funding strategies and facilitate successful outcomes.
- Lead strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of donor cultivation and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure high-quality event experiences.
- Analyze event performance and implement improvements to maximize ROI and engagement.
- Align team activities with organizational fundraising strategies.
- Contribute to annual fundraising plans and revenue projections.
- Manages and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: recruits, interviews, selects, hires, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, counsels, disciplines, and rewards. Establishes and monitors staff safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure program grant compliance, quality of services and evaluations.

Compensation: Starting at $82,110.00 - $93,000.00 annually (starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motion. May work in an area with high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Occasional lifting with reasonable accommodation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to secure and manage corporate sponsorships.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; strong project and time management skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior interpersonal and communication skills required (oral and written).
- Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.
- Must be a self-starter with strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Ability to create relationships and collaborate with corporate representation and internally with staff across departments and among leadership.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Database Management Software.
- Comfort level conducting independent research outside of traditional development prospecting tools.
- Strong independent writing and proofreading/editing skillset.
- Comfort level with public speaking and providing presentations to corporate groups.
- Proven success with planning, managing and initiating corporate relationships.
Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Work Experience: Five years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on corporate partnerships and sponsorships. Prior experience supervising or managing a team. Previous experience in institutional giving and event fundraising.
