Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities by conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems, and perform repairs as needed.
- Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Keep abreast of developments in maintenance techniques and technologies to continually improve skills and knowledge.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including some weekends and evenings.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing or kneeling.
- Experience with 480V 3-phase electrical required.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and other electrical control systems preferred.
