GENERAL SUMMARY

The Food Assistance Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food distribution warehouse and ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of services. This role requires a well-rounded professional with experience in office administration, warehouse logistics, customer service, inventory management, quality control, reporting, and documentation. The Food Assistance Program Manager will work closely with warehouse staff, and leadership to identify and implement improvements to program efficiency. Strong communication, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage time-sensitive responsibilities are essential. The Must remain composed under pressure, manage multiple tasks effectively, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, organizational ability, and leadership are required. The Food Assistance Program Manager will also be responsible for training and supervising volunteers to support program operations.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Director with all annual, quarterly, and F.A.P impact reports.
  • Submits monthly Agency Express Food Bank report.
  • Ensures all food distributions and community choice pantry are provided with food and correct number counts are accounted for.
  • Greets volunteers daily and provides introduction walk through, assigned tasks, safety policies for all warehouse and pantry operations.
  • Organizes the dispatch and delivery of goods with Program Director approval.
  • Ensure that goods are stored safely, and proper FIFO procedures are implemented daily.
  • Keeping staff fully trained and prepared for any distribution and disaster relief process.
  • Maintains safety standards and compliance.
  • Keeps accurate temperature records.
  • Creates weekly warehouse team schedule and conducts daily team morning devotions.
  • Creates weekly driver routes schedule.
  • Supervises coaches and trains all warehouse workforce.
  • Coordinates and administers forklift certification for Transition Track staff with authorization from the Program Director.
  • Responsible for recording and updating daily Food Assistance data, metrics, SIMC submissions, and coordinating pantry / program request fulfillment.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of warehouse management and logistic experience, training others, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • A very high level of accuracy, attention to details and commitment is required.

Physical Demands: Employee must be able to perform the duties under continuous repetitive motion (stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or reach) for extended or intermittent periods of time. Push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and telephone keypad. Periodic or prolonged exposure to heat and/or humid environment or changes in ambient temperature and mechanical moving parts and equipment/vehicles. Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Working Conditions: Warehouses and surrounding storage and operational spaces.

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with a satisfactory 7 year driving history in accordance to company policy.
  • Employee must be comfortable driving a 26 ft. box truck.
  • Forklift Operator certified or willing to become certified.

Travel: Some travel is required for this role. This role is required to maintain primary auto insurance at minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury, $100,000 property damage or $300,000 combined single limit. Must be an approved St. Matthew’s House driver.
