About the Department
The City of Issaquah Parks & Community Services is seeking a reliable and energetic Sports Program Assistant to support our adult sports programs. This part-time position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, organized, and enjoyable experience for participants in our Men’s Adult Basketball League (Thursday evenings) and Drop-In Volleyball Program (Monday evenings) at the Issaquah Community Center.

Position Duties
- Supervise adult basketball and volleyball programs, including game oversight and participant management.
- Keep accurate game scores and maintain official score sheets.
- Organize, set up and take down courts, nets, and other sports equipment.
- Enforce program rules and ensure fair play in coordination with officials.
- Provide excellent customer service to players, officials, and spectators.
- Address questions, concerns, and disputes in a professional manner.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe facility during and after programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of basketball and volleyball rules and basic game operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-energy or conflict situations.
- Ability to work as a team member and/or independently.
- Available to consistently work Monday & Thursday evenings.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in work habits.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- CPR/AED certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Other Qualifications
- Work is performed in a gymnasium setting with moderate to high noise levels.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. during setup and takedown.
