Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday
Tuesday: 11am – 7pm
Wednesday: 8am – 4pm
Thursday thru Saturday: 9am – 5pm

We’re looking for a Peer Recovery Specialist who can offer support, guidance, and understanding to individuals and families navigating substance use challenges. You’ll use your lived experience to make recovery feel possible—and walk beside people as they take steps toward healing.
What You’ll Do
· Connect with individuals and families who are navigating substance use recovery
· Share your personal story (when appropriate) to build trust and inspire hope
· Help people create personalized recovery plans based on their goals
· Offer support in person, over the phone, via text, and in groups
· Teach wellness tools, recovery strategies, and coping skills
· Advocate for individuals' needs and support them in accessing services like:
- Housing
- Health care
- Transportation
- Education
- Employment
- Legal or civic support
· Run or co-lead self-help and educational support groups
· Be available during times of crisis, providing a calm, understanding presence
· Work with partner agencies and help people build support networks
· Document your work, track data, and complete reports as required
Requirements
This Role Could Be a Great Fit If You
· Have personal or family experience with substance use recovery and are comfortable sharing your story in supportive ways
· Believe that recovery looks different for everyone and want to honor each person’s unique path
· Have strong communication and listening skills
· Are compassionate, reliable, and comfortable working independently
· Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the people you support
· Are willing to complete training and grow your skills on the job
Preferred Qualifications
· Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA), or willing to obtain
· NYCPS (New York Certified Peer Specialist) certification is a plus
· High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s in human services is a bonus, but not required)
· Two years of peer coaching, advocacy, or related experience
· Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred (ASL is a plus)
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
