Flavour Technician - Milton Keynes

As a Flavour Technician, you will support our technical flavourists by preparing flavour samples and creating basic flavour applications for evaluation. You will play a vital role in ensuring the laboratory operates efficiently, remains clean and organised and that raw materials are effectively ordered and managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare flavour and seasoning samples, as well as basic applications for evaluation, as requested.
  • Assist in applying seasonings to food products when required.
  • Maintain accurate formula records and documentation in the company database software.
  • Organise and update stock of raw materials and flavours in the laboratory.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly laboratory environment in compliance with EHS guidelines and good laboratory practices.
  • Participate in the evaluation of raw materials, new technologies and flavours in food products, providing feedback on flavour performance as needed.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory by attending project and technical meetings.
  • Support special projects as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient running of the laboratory.
  • Act as an Environment, Health and Safety Ambassador for the department.

Professional Profile:

  • A Levels in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Ideally, 1 year of experience in a food applications lab, production, or a related area such as quality control (1 year of degree placement experience is acceptable).
  • A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong focus on delivering results for customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn bespoke software programs.
  • Ability to follow formulations and blend ingredients with speed and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of EHS practices and the ability to serve as an EHS ambassador for the department.
