SESAC is looking for a VP, Creative Services, to join our team in the UK. As the VP, Creative Services, UK, you will manage the recruiting of new UK based affiliates along with maintaining/providing support to existing affiliates. You will also serve as the primary liaison on local activities related to affiliate shows, receptions, panels, events, etc.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Supporting the strategic growth of SESACs UK ro
aster by establishing key industry relationships and pursuing/signing new affiliates. - Maintaining current SESAC UK affiliates by providing excellent customer service and ensuring questions are addressed in a timely and accurate
lymanner. - Building awareness of the SESAC brand by representing the company within the music and educational community.
- Ensuring compliance on legal matters by partnering with the Legal team to discuss contracts and resolve issues.
- Presenting SESAC Affiliated writers’ requests to company for approval (i.e. advances, guarantees, etc.).
- Helping evaluate financial aspects of acquisitions and supporting the assessment of signings by determining the cost/benefit relationship of potential new catalogs.
- Developing various Affiliation strategies to support departmental and company objectives.
- Communicating Affiliations Relations Activity to senior management and working collaboratively with Creative Servies team members.
- Representing SESAC at various industry showcases and industry panels (songwriter, organizational, and professional panels, etc).
- Representing the Creative Services department in various meetings / committees (Management, Marketing, etc.).
- Observing industry economic, political, and social trends and making recommendations where appropriate.
- Providing support / direction for various SESAC corporate events (Award shows, showcases, etc.).
- Monitoring Industry Trade Charts and tracking SESAC Activity.
What Makes You Qualified:
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar position working with and supporting the singer/songwriter community.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated professional proficiency surrounding the business of songwriting, music publishing, and artist community.
- Expertise of business principles involved in the Music Industry specific to Publishing, Recording, and Artist Management.
- Functional knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Intellectual Property Rights relating to Performing Rights, Synchronization, and Mechanical Rights.
- Possess deep understanding of local industry trends with demonstratable and established Creative Community relationships.
- Exhibit strong people skills and an ability to build strong relationships with both external partners and internal colleagues.
- Ability to partner with colleagues in other departments to support the achievement of company goals.
- Working knowledge of Performance Rights Societies around the globe (inclusive of other domestic societies).
- Strong Public Speaking skills (both in hosting events and panel discussions).
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks / projects to ensure on time completion.
- Strong ethical conduct with a proven ability to manage confidential / sensitive / proprietary information.
- Ability to assess marketplace changes and adjust company direction based on evolving trends and expectations.
- Ability to perform quality research and analysis to identify potential strategic acquisitions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; comfortable working with and learning new technologies.
- Understanding of Music Production and techniques is a plus.
