Job Function
The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for developing, maintaining and securing TBP’s network infrastructure, encompassing hardware, software, date storage, third-party programs, connectivity and user access. The Network and Systems Administrator will engineer and proactively plan for projects as well as the long-term architecture of the District’s infrastructure.
Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communication:
• Maintains organizational communication between the Technology Department and all employees on matters related to network infrastructure.
• Relays relevant technology information to the organization in a timely manner.
• Coordinates closely and intensely with the Executive Director of Information Systems.
• Management and supervision of other Network and Systems personnel.
Duties:
• Designs and leads network and server projects on an ongoing basis.
• Provides guidance to staff to ensure department growth and individual professional development consistent with company objectives.
• Identifies and recommends improvements continuously to the Help Desk Manager.
• Oversees all IT purchasing related to network or servers including annual E-Rate procurement.
• Plans and implements improvements to TBP’s network infrastructure.
• Manages technical security for the organization.
• Manages licensing for software and support of District infrastructure.
• Manages technical contracts and leases.
• Manages network / server room assets and wired devices.
• Creates, implements, and enforces policies and procedures designed to protect TBP’s network and users.
• Plans, implements, tests and maintains company network & data disaster recovery, including plans for business continuity.
Technical:
• Enterprise Administrator – Responsible for the health and management of all components of network infrastructure.
• Creates and maintains the network map, identifying and resolving bottlenecks as they develop.
• Manages network configuration, protection, and user access, including every server, switch and wire in the network as well as anti-virus, active directory, email services, and backup systems.
• Technical contact and internal resource for all hosted applications.
Skills/Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and IP configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Window and Linux server operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio and network topology documentation.
- Prior experience with Active Directory automation.
- Knowledge of E-Rate 470 and 471 processes.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write technical reports and routine correspondence.
- Ability and/or willingness to learn to use and understand Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, letters and other written communication in order to effectively communicate information with employees, administration and the Board.
- Ability to apply common sense, problem solving and mediation skills, and a mature attitude to a variety of situations.
- Ability to communicate with people in a professional manner.
- Ability to make quick and sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
- CCNA preferred
- Five years or more of technical experience.
- Help Desk or customer support experience a plus.
- Superior IT planning and project management skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
