About the Role:
The Engineer 1 position within the Property, Operations & Maintenance division plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless functionality and safety of hospitality and tourism facilities. This role involves overseeing complex engineering projects, maintaining infrastructure integrity, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support property management and guest experience objectives. They will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain high standards of service. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to sustaining a safe, reliable, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering roles focused on property operations, maintenance, or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to hospitality properties.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute maintenance and repair activities for mechanical, electrical, and structural systems within hospitality properties.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to plan and implement engineering projects and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues affecting property operations promptly and effectively.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, equipment status, and compliance records.
- Support sustainability initiatives by recommending and implementing energy-efficient solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in emergency response planning and execution related to property infrastructure.
