The salary for this position is: $5,147 - $6,847 monthly.
Thurston County District Court is seeking a highly motivated, community and customer service oriented, positive individual for the position of Calendar Coordinator. The Calendar Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and maintenance of the District Court docket calendaring and scheduling of civil and criminal cases including jury trial coordination. This position has regular interactions with justice partners through the receipt and distribution of orders and notices and will be responsible for responding to inquiries and requests from justice partners and community members seeking services of the District Court.
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares and maintains District Court calendars; assigns and sets hearing/trial dates for pending cases; coordinates schedules and locations with respective judges, prosecuting and defense attorneys, law enforcement agencies, witnesses and defendants; generates written confirmation to all parties involved.
- Monitors case status for timeliness and compliance to court orders.
- Records incoming correspondence, notices, and motions related to criminal and civil cases; processes hearing/trial mail returns.
- Verifies, records and routes subpoenas issued by the Prosecutor's Office; issues and records approved subpoenas requested by defendants.
- Provides information by phone or in person regarding cases that are to be set or have been set on the court calendar.
- Receives and routes incoming telephone calls, screening and referring calls to appropriate persons.
- Arranges for interpreter services at hearings/trials on specific cases.
- May schedule judges pro tempore, court commissioners or visiting judges.
- Acts as backup to other clerical positions; performs their court-related duties as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work Environment – Work is performed primarily in an office environment, serving judicial officers, team members, and the public. Position may experience extended periods of sitting and/or standing. This is a team-centered environment.
- Schedule - Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Workload demands may occasionally require work outside the assigned work hours.
- Travel Requirements - Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings.
- Customer Interactions - Daily interactions via phone, in-person, and video with members of the public, justice partners, and team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in a court setting.
- Ability to type 55 wpm required.
- Knowledge of computer equipment and related software programs.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Thorough knowledge of judicial procedures, case processing, work related laws and codes, and legal terminology.
- Knowledge of office practices and ability to operate equipment used in the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff members, other agencies, and the general public.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions in accordance with laws and judicial procedures.
- Ability to assist co-workers with specific case processing procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of general office methods and procedures.
