SUMMARY
The Regional Security Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist the Director of Safety and Security in assessing and managing risk while implementing safety and security programs for Pinelake Church so that its vision can be accomplished through the mission. This position helps in the development and implementation of safety and security practices, ensures compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations, develops volunteers and provides training. This role ensures safe and secure environments at Pinelake campuses, Pinelake sponsored camps and One Church events, attenders, servant leaders, staff, and property assets.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church.
- Assists other staff members, when needed, to support teamwork and contribute to the successful completion of their objectives and strategies.
- Basic personal responsibilities:

SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in maintaining the overall Safety and Security of Pineklake Church attenders, servant leaders, staff, equipment, facilities, and confidential information.
- Plan and conduct safety and security assessments of church properties and implement corrective action in conjunction with the Director of Safety and Security. Assessments will be conducted in keeping with accepted security and safety industry standards particularly as they relate to places of worship.
- Develop, train, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in accordance with the Mississippi Church Protection Act, the Mississippi Medical Emergency Good Samaritan Act, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations for responses to threats such as severe weather; fire; theft; false allogations; verbal, written, or physical threats against the church, its staff, or its attenders; accidents and medical emergencies; and the ongoing protection of vulnerable individuals. These procedures will include applicable checklist, notification rosters and follow-up actions.
- Develop a network to obtain intelligence updates of possible threats and appropriate responses by developing partnerships and contacts with city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, emergency managers, fire services, in each community Pinelake serves.
- Identify hazards, determine risk, develop control measures, implement risk mitigation processes, and assess outcomes.
- Assists each ministry, at assigned campus, with the development of its specific emergency response activities.
- Assists in the efforts of recruiting and training servant leaders for the Security and Medical Response Teams for assigned campuses.
- Investigate accidents and incidents involving staff or servant leaders in support of church activities or any events occurring on church property. Maintain records of all such events.
- Provide oversight to the process of conducting background checks in support of onboarding new employees and as necessary for Our House Promise (OHP).
- Coordinate organizational drills for assigned campuses and ensures they occur on schedule with the appropriate evaluations; including, but not limited to: fire, disaster, abduction/hostage, bomb threat, inclement weather drills, and active shooter.
- Develop and administer regularly scheduled training events for all servant leaders.
- Provide training for new staff during orientation and ongoing training to the staff regarding safety and security SOPs, best practices and lessons learned for experiences that will enhance preparedness.
- Identify, select, and monitor the performance of all security and surveillance equipment.
- May assist in duties outside of their assigned campus(es) at the direction of the Director of Safety and Security.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise non-exempt and exempt personnel. Supervises, trains, and coordinates work with servants and servant leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have a current Mississippi Enhanced Carry Permit and/or meet the Retired Law Enforcement Officer Certification requirements as directed by the Mississippi Church Protection Act.
- Must be able to pass the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s State Basic Firearms Course with a minimum score of 90%.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comporable safety and security field
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse group of people, communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, e-mail and in person, demonstrating tact and diplomacy. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with servant leader volunteers, co-workers, the public and church members and regular attendees. The individual must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to analyze and interpret complex documents, instructions manuals, policies and procedures is essential.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The individual must have demonstrated skill in the use of PC systems to complete tasks, including word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to use the World Wide Web for information retrieval. The individual must have basic mathematical skills, knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting, and budget and expense monitoring. The individual must have the ability to read financial information and spreadsheets. The individual must understand basic social networking fundamentals, and content creation and integration.
REASONING ABILITY
The individual must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries; simultaneous conceptualization and planning of multiple tasks, ability to project outcomes using different implementation strategies and ability to apply creative and innovative thinking to problem situations; and solve practical problems. The ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions to ensure deadlines are met is essential.
