SUMMARY

The Ministry Liaison serves as the primary communication bridge between the Information Technology team and other ministries within the church both for campuses and the One Church team. This role ensures that ministry needs are clearly understood, prioritized, and supported through appropriate technology solutions, specifically ROCK.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church.
  • As a part of the overall One Church staff team, participate in campus-wide ministry events and the shepherding of our One Church faith family.
  • Basic personal responsibilities:
    • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, meditation and practicing L3.
    • Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
    • Faithfully support the ministries of Pinelake by maintaining wise stewardshipmeasures over the resources entrusted to you.
    • Maintain active participation in community.
    • Reflect a growing awareness and practice of personal Emotional Healthy Spirituality.
    • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Pinelake Church (Colossians 3:23-24).

SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ministry Engagement & Support

  • Develop relationships with ministry leaders to understand their workflows, pain points, and technology needs.
  • Proactively gather feedback and relay ministry requirements to the IT department for solution development or support.
  • Educate ministry teams on the database system, ROCK to ensure ministries have the tools, software, and systems that can enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with IT and ministry teams on project planning, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Ensure ministry projects are appropriately scoped, resourced, and communicated.
  • Help prioritize IT requests in alignment with ministry goals and overall church objectives.

Communication & Translation

  • Translate technical language into ministry-friendly terms and vice versa to ensure clear understanding between parties.
  • Create documentation, training materials, and user guides tailored to ministry teams. 

Training & Onboarding

  • Facilitate training sessions for staff on relevant technology updates within ROCK.
  • Support onboarding processes for new staff with respect to IT tools and systems.

Problem Solving & Escalation

  • Triage and escalate ministry-related IT issues appropriately, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Serve as a point of accountability to ensure ministry teams feel supported by the IT department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in a church or ministry setting, ideally within a mid-to-large organization.
  • Familiarity with IT systems, church management software (Rock RMS) and productivity tools (Microsoft 365).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in communications, ministry, information systems, or related field preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technologically savvy, with a willingness to learn and understand new systems.
  • Bridge-builder mentality with a heart to serve.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse group of people, communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, e-mail and in person, demonstrating tact and diplomacy. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with volunteers, co-workers, the public and church members and regular attendees. The individual must have the ability to understand written or oral instructions; read, analyze and interpret complex documents, instructions manuals, policies and procedures is essential.

COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The individual must have demonstrated skill in the use of Windows/MacOS to complete tasks, including word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to use the internet for information retrieval. The individual must have basic mathematical skills, knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting, and budget and expense monitoring. The individual must have the ability to read financial information and spreadsheets.

REASONING ABILITY

The individual must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries; simultaneous conceptualization and planning of multiple tasks, ability to project outcomes using different implementation strategies and ability to apply creative and innovative thinking to problem situations; and solve practical problems. The ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions to ensure deadlines are met is essential.
