About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Operations to help lead the next stage of growth for a software company in Valsoft’s portfolio. This position is a blend of operational leadership, strategic execution, and financial management — ideal for a hands-on leader with experience scaling businesses in a PE-style environment. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for optimizing operations, driving efficiencies, improving customer delivery, and supporting top-line and bottom-line growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Execution

  • Lead the execution of strategic operational plans in alignment with company objectives.
  • Translate business strategy into scalable operational systems, workflows, and team structures.
  • Manage day-to-day functions such as customer service, technical support, service delivery, and professional services.
  • Implement process improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma) to enhance customer satisfaction, efficiency, and margin performance.

Performance & Financial Management

  • Own and deliver on key operational metrics: revenue retention, margin expansion, customer satisfaction, and on-time delivery.
  • Partner with finance to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and ROI-focused initiatives.
  • Drive EBITDA growth through operational cost savings, pricing discipline, and resource efficiency.
  • Develop and deploy KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems for operational visibility and accountability.

Strategic Initiatives & Transformation

  • Lead change management efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare the company for next-stage growth through readiness projects and process transformation.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and Valsoft’s central operating team to align on long-term strategy and execution.
  • Support integration of newly acquired assets (if applicable), ensuring smooth operational alignment.

Leadership & Team Building

  • Manage and develop cross-functional teams across operations, support, and service delivery.
  • Cultivate a culture of ownership, high performance, and continuous learning.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to operational leaders and teams.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in B2B software or SaaS environments.
  • Experience working in a Private Equity-backed business or fast-paced growth company preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams (support, customer success, delivery, professional services).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational KPIs and financial performance.

Skills

  • Data-driven decision-making with comfort in financial analysis, margin improvement, and forecasting.
  • Systems thinker with the ability to simplify complex operations into clear, repeatable processes.
  • Comfortable building infrastructure from the ground up or scaling existing teams and systems.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution.
  • Proficiency with operational tools (ERP, CRM, dashboards) and process optimization frameworks.

Culture Fit

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Have a “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach and bias for action.
  • Embrace a meritocratic, entrepreneurial culture where execution is rewarded.
  • Are energized by complexity, autonomy, and accountability.
  • Believe in servant leadership and creating leverage through great people and systems.
