Facilities & Maintenance Additional Information: Show/Hide - Install and maintain landscapes, prune trees or shrubs, and do other tasks to ensure that vegetation is attractive, orderly, and safe.
- Applies mulch, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides according to district standards and protocols.
- Operates hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to mowers, leaf-blowers, tillers, backhoes, and tractors.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed, reporting complex issues to lead workers or supervisors for further action.
- Provide general support to skilled tradespeople as needed.
- Monitor building systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical, heating) under the direction of supervisors, following district protocols and safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance and safety concerns, such as faulty equipment or hazardous conditions, to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and safety regulations, including the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on district buildings and grounds, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained according to district standards.
- Perform regular cleaning tasks as needed.
- Work independently and as a team to arrange physical spaces, equipment, and materials in a way that supports effective learning, working, and public use of facilities.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public, both orally and in writing.

PURPOSE: To provide skilled labor maintenance, under the direction of a skilled tradesperson, for district buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, staff, and the community.
Hours: 8 per day
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Contract Status: Regular/Probationary
FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Classified
Start Date: As soon as possible
Calendar: 260 Work Days
Rate: $24.36 with Benefits
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee’s salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
