Financial Resources Federal Credit Union (FRFCU) is looking for a Data Operations and Automation Specialist to join our Information Technology team in making a difference in peoples’ lives and helping us achieve our digital transformation goals!

The Data Operations and Automation Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing data operations, analytics, and robotic process automation workflows across the credit union, which includes – but not limited to – provisioning data from various sources and vendors to departments, liaison with the core financial system vendor, development of business intelligence (BI) reports, building extract, transform, load (ETL) data pipelines, seamless integration with vendors data sources, and development of robotic and process automation workflows. The employee will leverage existing technology stack to provide services to members and employees, like Crystal Reports for accessing core data and Nintex automation processes to contribute to the credit union’s digital strategy and vision.

Some of your essential duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintain, clean, and organize large datasets across platforms.
  • Leverage various vendor tools, like Crystal Reports, to extract data from various sources, including, core banking system, for business and departments’ needs.
  • Build data models for aimed banking solutions and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with department and vendors to use tools, like R, Python and Power BI to extract business intelligence reports.
  • Builds – and maintain existing – ETL data pipelines to move data between multiple systems and effective use of data for business.
  • Manage – and perform operations on – rational database management system (RDBM)        and non – rational database management system (NRDBM), including.
  • Monitor performance, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
  • Create dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, R, or Python.
  • Build and manage data hosting resources on the cloud, like Azure data lake, blob storages, and SQL databases.
  • Work with analysts, engineers, and business teams across the credit union and the credit union’s vendor to support data needs.
  • Work with the credit union’s cloud, network, and vendors teams to build cloud infrastructure for data migrations. 
  • Identify repetitive business tasks and leverage automation tools like Nintex and Power Automate to build automation workflows and automate aimed tasks.
  • Develop customized automation scripts and microservices using Python and Power Shell.
  • Connect to various core and vendors’ APIs to enable seamless and compliant data flow.
  • Build automated monitoring systems to detect anomalies or failures in data pipelines and automation workflows.
  • Maintain detailed records and documents of automation workflows and data processes for audits and scalability.
  • Leverage machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI to streamline existing business processes.
  • Use relevant cloud services, like Azure functions, to build automation processes and workflows on the cloud.
  • Research, recommend and implement purchasing of IT hardware/software within authority limits. 
  • Provide backup support for tasks normally completed by other members of the Information Technology department as required.

We ask that you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field. MS degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a data operations, with strong preference to previous experience in core financial applications and enterprise-level data transfer processes. 
  • 4+ experience in managing and operating on SQL database systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems architecture, including core applications, system operating software, and integrated platforms.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence (BI), analytics and reporting / dashboarding tools, like R and Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience in robotic process automation tools, like Nintex and Power Automate.
  • Previous experience in Azure cloud data infrastructure.
  • Solid background in programming – and scripting – in Python, R, and / or Power Shell.
  • Knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) will be preferred.
  • Problem solver with strong ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
